Elemis Spa @ Bannatynes Blackpool Review

This weekend, me and my besty visited the Elemis Spa at Bannatynes Blackpool for a well deserved pamper. We both had two treatments each, a facial and a back, neck and shoulder massage.

First impressions: Well, as expected it was pretty much like going to your local gym. We checked in at reception and received our dressing gown and slippers which we had to pay £10 deposit for, this was refunded when we gave them back. The spa itself was lovely and the treatment room was perfect. We had the option to have a "couples" treatment in the dual room so true besty style, we obvs went for that option.

I have been so run down lately, my diet has been HORRENDOUS and I just generally have not been taking the best care of myself. Unfortunately, my skin is the first place that self-neglect shows. My skin type is typically very oily and breakout prone, but lately it has been so dehydrated and sensitive which the therapist picked up on straight away.

The products used in my facial were:

Elemis Rose Petal Hydrating Cleanser - What Elemis say This hydrating and nourishing rose petal-infused cleanser effectively removes make-up and the daily build-up of skin pollutants. For dehydrated, mature skin."  I didn't notice anything particularly spectacular about this product. It felt nice and fresh but nothing to write home about.

Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm - What Elemis say - "This powerful, deep cleansing balm dissolves make-up, daily grime and pollutants. Skin is intensely cleansed, nourished and renewed for a glowing complexion. For all skin types. "  Now this is something special! The smell just screams SPA, it feels luxurious and my skin felt super super clean and instantly hydrated after this.

Elemis Skin Buff - What Elemis say - "Fine exfoliating granules slough off dead skin cells to reveal a brighter, more vibrant complexion." I'm not usually a fan of physical exfoliators or scrubs and usually go down the chemical exfoliation route with AHAs such as Glycolic or Lactic acid, but I actually really enjoyed this product. It felt very gritty, it wasn't like once of those "scrubs" that just feels like a few grains of sand in a cleanser. I could literally feel the dead skin being sloughed away  and my skin was definitely A LOT brighter and smoother.

Elemis Exotic Cream Moisturising Mask - What Elemis say  - "This nourishing cream mask delivers an intense hydration boost, and is ideal for dull, dry and dehydrated skin.Taking the Chi-energy of the plant, the dynamic synergy of Mimosa and Honey Absolutes is combined with hydrating extracts of Samphire, Orange and Bergamot to moisturise and enrich for soft and supple skin." Again, not something I usually have in my vast skin care collection at home as it's just not something I normally need. My skin type means I reach more for deep cleansing or exfoliating masks. NEVER hydrating! My skin sucked this up like a large cold glass of water and my skin felt sooo hydrated afterwards. The therapist gave a gorgeous chest and shoulder massage whilst the mask is on which is something I love to do in my own treatments, I hate when therapists put a face mask and leave the room. I will 100% be investing in this mask to use as a quick pick me up, I can imagine it would be a great pre-make up mask before a big event.

Elemis Hydra- Boost Sensitive Day Cream  - What Elemis say - "Comfort and nourish sensitive skin with this hydrating day cream." This product was like a warm hug, it soothed any sensitivity and left me glowing at the end of the treatment. I'm not sure it will replace my current day cream but it didn't break me out and my skin felt hydrated for the rest of the day.

A lovely touch to end the experience was a free gift, we both got Bannatynes own brand Balancing Massage Oil. It is infused with Ylang Ylang, passion fruit and marjoram and it smells delicious, I cannot wait to use this on my clients. Once of the main ingredients is sweet almond oil so those of you will nut allergies obvs need to avoid.

In terms of the whole experience for the day, the treatments were perfect, the therapists were lovely, very knowledgeable and welcoming and the products were to die! The only thing I would say is, the facilities don't really compete with the bigger spas.

Once your treatment is over, you're basically back to mingling with the local gym goers in the jacuzzi. There is no relaxation room or any other facilities that are exclusively for spa goers which was the only negative of the day for me. Other than that, huge thumbs up for the Elemis Spa @  Bannatynes Blackpool
